In recent years we have noticed a change mainly in the way we are accessing music. One of the most popular ways to always listen to the latest hits without breaking the bank is streaming and millions of users (60 million to be precise) have already signed to use the services of the industry leader and streaming giant Spotify. Although Spotify is one of the top apps used for streaming of music, the music artists didn’t agree with the fact that people can listen to their music for nothing and gathered together to create Tidal – an app that allows the users to stream the latest tracks for a monthly fee. The app promised the users that they will have access to videos and music that the free apps like Sotrify cannot offer them. Jay Z was the brains behind this app and he was supported by names like Usher, Rihanna, Madonna, Kanye West, Beyonce, etc.

Even though such big names have supported the app, Tidal did not gain a lot of popularity and has been slowly dropping off the app charts. It has currently dropped out of the 800 most downloaded apps in the Apple store and its rival Spotify is enjoying the 5th place with people claiming that thanks to Tidal, Spotify gained a lot more popularity.
